What to do on a rainy weekend . . . .

Fun projects for a not so fun weekend! It was cold and rainy so what is a girl to do . . . JUNK!! I took this chair from my "free from the dump" stash and gave it some new life. I loved the fabric so much I made a cushion for the bench in my entry way too!! A little color goes a long way!

Princeton sure was dusty!!

We took Carter to Princeton this weekend. Both Mike and "Unca Joe" were racing their cars there so we made a family trip out of the deal. It got cool when the sun went down and the dust was pretty bad, so Carter came up with his own way of watching Daddy!! LOL This awesome race shot came from Missy!

Weekend Projects!!!!!

I love junkin!!! I spent much of the weekend on these two pieces. I found the door for free at an architectural salvage spot up the north shore and the old sewing table at the dump!!! Can you believe it!!! My sister in law has a table just like this one that I totally love, but mine even has the old sewing machine still inside!!! I am using the door as a shelf and found the vintage brackets down at Old Town Antiques. I don't have homes for these items yet, but think that both are WAY cute and wanted to share!

Big Day . . .

These pictures came from Sarah & Zack's wedding which was just a few weeks ago in March. It was about 30* outside that day, a relatively normal day for Duluth, but as you can see from the outdoor shots, the icy cold did not affect the happy couple one bit!!!

Little Man's Surgery Day . . .

Carter Cruz had surgery to remove his umbilical granuloma yesterday. He was so brave! These pictures are before the procedure while we waited in his room at Miller Dwan and a little blurry because they were taken with my cell phone. The cute little pj's they gave him to wear were WAY too small, as you can see. When the surgery was over, he was brought back to the room and was pretty scared more than anything. It took a few hours for him to come around. He is sore today and pretty ticked off that he can't move around and much as he would like, but getting better quickly. He should be rough and tumble in no time!!!

This cute off-white shutter came from one of my friend Krista's sales. She always has the cutest things for sale via a blog and store called Snowman Hill. I think I blame her mostly for my new obsession! (wink) I also bought this wire basket that I put up underneath it to put my bubblebath and towels in, since it is right over my tub. This keeps everything up and out of the way so it just HAD to come home with me! I think I love the look of shutters now, especially with how much fun they are to put up and accessorize. I have another one now too that I found at the dump, yes the dump again! (quickly becoming my favorite place to "shop") It is dark brown so makes for a cool contrast in my bathroom. I put it over my toilet and hung a similar basket beneath it to store toilet paper, its adorable!!!
